Policyholder

The person who owns the insurance policy and pays premiums regularly. For example, if you have purchased a life insurance policy for yourself, you are the policyholder and life assured both. On the other hand, if you have purchased a life insurance plan for your parent, then he/she is the life assured and you are the policyholder as you pay the premiums regularly.
